Feel The Force. Nvidia RTX 4060 and RTX 4050 GPUs Coming Sooner Than Expected. The Nvidia Geforce Experience Expands It’s Horizon

Isn’t it great when you don’t have to wait for something you really want? Well, theres some hopeful news coming from Shangke Group. The Nvidia Geforce experience continues as they seem to have have filed an ECC listing for Nvidia GPUs. This includes the RTX 4090-700 series, adding names RTX 4060 and 4050. Hopefully this suggests a desktop release soon.

It seems that Nvidia may be planning to release its entire RTX 40 series lineup in a much shorter timeframe compared to previous generations. Historically, the company has taken a considerable amount of time to roll out its entire product stack, but if the ECC listing is accurate, we may see the entire RTX 40 series available in the market within the next year. This would be a significant departure from the company’s usual release schedule, and could signal a shift in Nvidia’s strategy for introducing new graphics card models.

Whats It All Mean?

GPU manufacturers often turn to ECC listings as a means of registering potential model names with the government for future use. While these listings can provide insight into what models may be in the works, it’s important to keep in mind that manufacturers have the option to change or abandon the names included in these listings at any point in the development process. As such, it’s best to approach these listings with a healthy dose of skepticism.

Performance

It seems that the specs and performance of the upcoming RTX 4050 and RTX 4060 desktop GPUs remain a mystery, as no rumors or information about them have surfaced as of yet. Although the laptop versions of these GPUs have already been released, the desktop versions have yet to be seen. However, based on the rumored specs of the RTX 4060 Ti and RTX 4070, it appears that these mid-range cards may not be as powerful as their predecessors. The RTX 4070 is said to have a CUDA core count similar to the RTX 3070, but with a reduction in memory and bus width. The RTX 4060 Ti, on the other hand, is rumored to have even fewer CUDA cores and a narrower bus width compared to the 3060 Ti.

Despite this, it appears that Nvidia is focusing on energy efficiency for these mid-range cards. Utilizing the Ada Lovelace architecture and higher clock speeds as a means to boost performance. It remains to be seen how the Ada Lovelace architecture will perform at lower core counts and with power limitations. However, if Nvidia can achieve 3090 Ti gaming at 250W, as it did with the RTX 4080, the RTX 4050 could potentially be a highly efficient successor to the GTX 750 Ti.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 and RTX 4050 are expected to bring enhanced efficiency to the market. The RTX 4060 Ti is rumored to boast a 160W TGP and offer performance comparable to the RTX 3070/Ti. The non-Ti version, the GeForce RTX 4060, is expected to deliver performance slightly slower than the 4060 Ti at around 130-150W TGP.

The GeForce RTX 4050 is believed to feature the AD107 GPU core and a 128-bit bus interface, however, these details are yet to be confirmed. The ultimate success of these cards will depend on their pricing, as both the RTX 4060 and 4050 are aimed at the mainstream market. Given the launch prices of the RTX 3050 ($249 US) and RTX 3060 ($329 US), NVIDIA will have to be careful not to overprice these cards, as this could negatively impact their reception among mass consumers. But I think these cards perform for many applications, so your Yuzu GPU High vs Normal concerns can be laid to rest.

Hopefully these new mid-range GPU’s will sell like hotcakes and can give Nvidia Stock a boost.
